Bogotá
Spent three days in Bogotá and found it like many other South American cities — highly unequal. It was enjoyable to spend a couple of days there: historical attractions, nice architecture, and amazing gastronomy. We went to the Museo del Oro and Museo Botero, the cathedral, Monserrate, La Concordia, and El Mercado in the Egipto neighbourhood, and ate at Daniel and at Andrés Carne de Res in Chapinero. I did a gastronomic walking tour from Parque Santander with my Colombian friend Oscar — it was only okay, but I had a lot of good coffee. Seeing the statue of San Martín on Carrera 7 got me excited. Walking the pedestrian stretch of Séptima felt authentic, though I suspect it can also feel unsafe.
