I personally always found this place to be overly rated. It is nice for an afternoon but hardly worth a long trip. It is merely a town with a small old town. The sunsets are very beautiful over the La Plata River and there might be occasional beautiful festivities for the whole family such as murgas and carnaval. I have been there a number of times.
